You remember that En Vogue song? Give it up, turn it loose. Just in case you don’t take a listen. Who plays games without any rules? A fool! Your core conditioning workout for the No-Gut November challenge
I often get asked about what motivated me to compete or who inspires me to do what I do. I also read comments that others make about how they are motivated by someones picture or inspired by their drive. It brings me to wonder if people know the difference between motivation and inspiration or do they just throw it out there as a compliment not knowing the meaning behind it. I have always been a huge word person. I take people at their word and I stand strong on mine, because it is all I have as to show who I am. Talk may be cheap, but I joke that if my words had monetary value, I would make you rich.
I remember the first time I saw this video, I was so inspired by the video as a whole but the words and story he told motivated me that day.
The ideal that of wanting something so bad that it literally takes your breathe away. You want to be at the top of your craft so much so that fame or fortune doesn’t matter because you will use your final breathe to get there. Can you even imagine using your final fight to get what you always wanted. No you can’t, why? Because as humans we want to enjoy what we fought so hard to obtain. So hearing stories simply inspire us to want to HEAR more but not DO more. Yes inspiration is just a thought or a beautiful idea of what we wish we could do.
But motivation is a action. When you are motivated, you are thrown into action. You get up, stop or start doing what you need to do in order to be successful. Motivation makes you sit back and re-evaluate your current situation and say, “This is not what I signed up for.” You would be correct, you don’t sign up to be successful, there is not an application for success. You are motivated, moved, pushed, dragged, or maybe even drowned in motivation in order to be successful. You see, motivation is not comfortable, because often times, moving in a direction in which your body is not accustom to is uncomfortable. But my friend what I will give you my word and say is this, if you are truly inspired to be motivated to be successful, it won’t come easy, it won’t come fast, but it will come if you KEEP MOVING and stay the course.
Earlier I stated i get asked about my motivation and inspiration. To be honest, i was inspired by my youngest daughter. When she was about 3, she had nice round shoulders and I remember saying she had to get them genetics form my side and I wanted to transform my body to look like hers. Yes a 3 year old. Needless to say that yes her muscular structure came from my side of the family. The thought of looking all cut up was my inspiration, but my motivation, the thing that made me move into action was the people I met at the training studio. I went everyday just to have a relationship with those that were doing the same thing I was. As months went on my motivation changed, however my inspiration still remains. Now my daughter is 12 and continues to flaunt her 8 pack abs. Crazy huh!
If you have not joined the No-Gut November Challenge, do so here. I look to motivate you to move into action and get an early start on the New Year to a New You.
Yesterday was a blast for me. My daughters had their very first cheer competition of the season. During the car ride they said. “Momma we dream of this day, and thanks to you our dream has come true”. I can’t put into letters how great that felt. I work very hard to instill value into my girls and it is a joy to hear how they really feel.
The same drive I use for their success is the same I will use for yours.
As we begin the challenge, I will continue to thank you for joining. I know you don’t have to, but you took the time to register and now you are here. Yes this is the beginning stages of my website and hope you stay around and grow with me.
My friend/client will be blogging her journey.
She has a unique story. She is an awesome Zumba teacher and has struggled with her weight for a while. We are in constant communication about what she needs to do. She has taken some before pictures and I encourage you all to do the same. Really commit to this challenge. Take full advantage of all this info you are given. Stay connected with me and I will with you.
Amber will not be the only client you will hear from. I have a few clients who are willing to share their journey. Like I stated before I will also be participating in the challenge. I will be 40 in 2 weeks plus I am preparing myself to get back into competition mode come December.
Now let’s get on to today’s featured recipe and workout.
Our featured recipe is a breakfast one. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Since I have to leave as early as 3:45am, I rarely get the chance to make this meal, but it sure is a delightful one.
November is the month we celebrate Thanksgiving and Facebook is flooded daily with how people are thankful. Yes once again we find a month and latch on to a concept and go all out for the win. When in fact we should spend everyday being thankful. I have been following and getting daily emails from the Gratitude Guru Paul B. Taubman. Each day I read quotes like, “Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.” Along with my daily Bible reading, I always begin my day with a thankful heart. I have so many things to be thankful for and one month of Facebook blasting can not compare to the lifetime of love God has blessed me to receive.
I will be honest friends, for the last few months I have been struggling in every avenue of my life. If you can think about it, I have struggled with it. But because of my daily fillings of God and gratitude, I have continued the course that has been set for me. If you don’t know my why story you can read it here. I made a sacrifice and I have not regretted at all. My daughters will compete in their first competition tomorrow (look for pics) and I can’t begin to explain how excited I am.
They have worked hard, practicing 4 days a week up to 3 to 5 hours on those days. I am blessed to have two teenage girls that are committed to their sport and not the way of the world.
The title of this post is Give-ful, although we are in the season of being thankful, let’s not forget to give now and not wait til December.
I challenge you to start now with creating a mindset of giving. Not giving to others, but giving to yourself first. As a mother and women, we often more times than most, give of ourselves to others and fail to give to the one that matters most. Below are a list of ways you can start by giving to yourself. Some of these you may already do, but I want you to change your mind as you do them.
This is just start. When giving yourself flowers, don’t just go but any flowers and your local grocery store. Go to a floral shop, take time to admire the assorment by smelling and touching them. Have the florist arrange the most beautiful arrangement and figure out where you can put it. Your flowers need to be in a place that you can see them daily and be reminded that you are the most special person in the world. Get them home, snap a picture of them and post them on all you social media sites. Write about how they make you feel and what joy they bring because you took the time out to give to yourself. Regardless of what people think on the web. They may suggest your boo gave them to you or you have an admirer you have not been sharing. But the realness of this is that the world will know you deserve them because of who you are. Take in all those comments and realize that you ARE SOMEONE SPECIAL. That is how you change your mindset about giving to yourself. And if you are single like me, I journal the experience and will show my future husband what I deserve and if he can’t make me feel like I can make myself feel then he is not the one for me. If you don’t know how special you are and can’t give to yourself, then how can you expect or accept when someone wants to give to you.
OK I know I am all about fitness, but why get in the best shape of my life and not reward me with loving me.
Until next time, Sexy Sculpting
